A GENÉTICA ASSOCIADA À FIBROSE CÍSTICA E A ATUAÇÃO DA ENFERMAGEM NO CUIDADO DOS PACIENTES
Abstract
Introduction: Cystic fibrosis is a genetic disease impacting multiple organs due to mutations in the CFTR gene. Technological advances and innovative therapies are used to correct mutations, reflecting the progress of personalized medicine. Objective: The study seeks to understand the genetic factors of cystic fibrosis and the crucial role of nursing professionals in care, aiming to improve the quality of life of patients and their families. Methodology: It is a narrative review of the literature, carried out through bibliographic research on online platforms between December 2023, using specific terms. 35 scientific articles on genetic aspects of cystic fibrosis and nursing interventions were analyzed. Results and Discussion: Cystic fibrosis is an autosomal recessive genetic condition, mainly affecting the respiratory and digestive systems. Genetic testing is crucial for early diagnosis, genetic counseling and more effective therapies. The nursing team plays a central role in care, offering emotional and educational support and managing treatments. Final Considerations: Nursing is essential in understanding the genetic aspects of cystic fibrosis, providing accurate diagnoses, genetic guidance and adaptive care. The personalized approach contributes to improving patients' quality of life, highlighting the integral role of the nursing team.
