Introduction: Parkinson's disease is a complex neurodegenerative condition, resulting from the interaction between genetic and environmental factors. In this context, the growing relevance of nursing in the context of treatment stands out, providing emotional and educational support for patients and families. Objective: to provide more detailed knowledge about the genetic influence on Parkinson's disease and provide information that contributes to the development of more effective therapeutic approaches within the scope of nursing care. Methodology: consists of a narrative review of the literature, carried out through bibliographical research, using platforms such as SciELO and PubMed. After adopting inclusion criteria, 35 scientific articles and relevant sources were selected, published between 2010 and 2023. Results and discussions: Parkinson's disease results from the multifactorial interaction between genetic and environmental factors. Mutations in certain genes affect different neural pathways, contributing to the progressive degeneration of nerve cells. In this context, the nursing team plays an essential role in the assessment, emotional support and education of Parkinson's patients. Final Considerations: the importance of improved understanding of the genetic aspects of Parkinson's disease is highlighted, as well as the holistic performance of the nursing team, combined with technical knowledge, which is crucial to providing personalized and comprehensive care to patients with this neurodegenerative pathology .
