GENÉTICA DAS DOENÇAS MENTAIS E AS ESTRATÉGIAS DE ENFERMAGEM PARA APOIAR OS PACIENTES
Abstract
Introduction: Mental disorders represent a significant concern on a global scale. In this sense, it is known that several factors influence its development, with emphasis on genetic aspects. Objectives: The main objective of this study is to address the influence of genetics on mental illnesses, as well as analyze the role of nursing professionals in treating these disorders. Methodology: A narrative review of the literature was carried out through bibliographic research, using platforms such as SciELO, PubMed and Virtual Health Library. Search terms included "Genetics", "Anxiety", "Depression", "Bipolar Disorder" and "Care of nursing". 33 selected scientific articles published in the last 14 years were analyzed. Results: Studies reveal genetic patterns associated with mental disorders, such as variations in genes. It is noteworthy that genetics, although it plays an important role, interacts complexly with environmental factors. The article explores genes related to anxiety, depression and bipolar disorder, highlighting the genetic complexity of these conditions. Final Considerations: The study concludes that genetics and nursing strategies are interconnected, influencing each other in the scenario of mental illnesses. The importance of nursing in deeply understanding the underlying genetics, providing effective and patient-centered care, is highlighted.
